Getting Started & Dashboard Overview
The Visperity Merchant Dashboard is your central control room for managing your AI knowledge bases, customizing customer-facing widgets, reviewing visitor inquiries, and monitoring your account's capacity quotas.
1. Navigating the Dashboard
When you log into your merchant account and click the Visperity AI tab, you will see the main dashboard organized into seven dedicated sections:

| Embedded Search | Build a dedicated in-page search box and rich result cards for your search results page. |
| Datasets | Manage your indexed vector records, filter by language, edit prices/IDs, and manage datasets. |
| Data Import | Add new web pages, XML sitemaps, CSV spreadsheets, or manual knowledge records. |
| Queue | Monitor background crawling jobs, check progress, and step through translation batches. |
| Logs | Usage Logs, Search History and Activity. |
2. Managing Multiple Datasets
A Dataset is an isolated knowledge base that powers your AI assistant and search tools. For example, you might create one dataset for your primary e-commerce store, another for your support documentation, and a third for a wholesale catalog.
Switching Your Active Dataset
At the top of the dashboard, you will see the Active Dataset Selector. Choosing a dataset immediately switches the active workspace, updating the knowledge records, crawler queues, and widget configurations to match that specific dataset.
Creating a New Dataset
- Navigate to the Datasets section (
section=datasets). - Click the blue
+ New Datasetbutton. - Enter the following details:
- Dataset Name: A recognizable title (e.g.
Main Store CatalogorCustomer Support FAQ). - Company / Brand Name: Your business name (e.g.
Acme Goods). - Approved Domains (Whitelist): Comma-separated domain names allowed to load your widgets (e.g.
mybrand.com, shop.mybrand.com). If left blank, requests from all domains are accepted.
- Dataset Name: A recognizable title (e.g.
- Click Create & Publish Dataset. Your unique API Key and CloudFront CDN scripts will be generated automatically.
Editing or Deleting Datasets
- Edit: Click the ✏️ Edit button on any dataset row to modify the dataset title, company name, or domain whitelist.
- Delete: Click Delete to remove a dataset and purge all associated indexed records. (Note: Your account must retain at least one dataset.)
3. Configuration Revisions & Snapshots
Visperity allows you to save snapshots of your ai assistant configurations (colors, copy, button labels, icons) so you can safely experiment with new designs or seasonal holiday themes.
Saving a Snapshot
- In the header bar of the dashboard, click the 🕒 Revisions button.
- Under Save Current Configuration As New Revision, enter a descriptive name (e.g.
Summer Blue Theme 2026orHoliday Sale Layout). - Click 💾 Save Revision.
Restoring a Snapshot
- Open the Revisions modal.
- Find your desired saved snapshot from the list.
- Click 🔄 Restore & Apply. Your previous styling, labels, and widget settings will be immediately restored and deployed to your live widgets.
4. Visitor Search & Inquiry Analytics
In the Logs section, you can review full historical logs of every customer search and conversation across all three channels (Virtual Assistant, Live Search, and Embedded Search):
- Query / Prompt: The exact words or question the visitor typed.
- AI Answer / Summary: The real-time response or search excerpt presented to the visitor.
- Channel Badge: Indicates whether the inquiry originated from 🤖 Assistant, 🔍 Live Search, or 📄 Embedded Search.
- Visitor Origin & IP: Displays the country flag and IP address of the user.
- Date & Timestamp: Shows when the inquiry occurred.
- Control Panel Tests: Inquiries performed directly inside your merchant preview simulators are tagged with a yellow
🧪 Testbadge and automatically excluded from your billable metrics.
5. Plan Quotas & Usage Tracking
Visperity provides clear visual capacity meters on your dashboard tracking three core quotas:
- Active Datasets: The number of isolated knowledge bases you have created versus your plan's maximum.
- Indexed Knowledge URLs: The total count of web pages, documents, and product records currently indexed into vector memory.
- Monthly Customer Sessions: The number of interactive visitor search and assistant sessions conducted in the current billing period.
Upgrading Your Plan
If your store expands or you need to index more catalog pages, click the ⚡ Upgrade Plan button in the dashboard header or in any quota alert. You can select between Monthly or Annual billing (with automatic annual discounts) and checkout securely in seconds.
